The Ballard Independent is a mixed-use residential and retail building in the heart of old Ballard—on 24th and Market. Unlike some real estate developers, the team at Holland Partner Group cares deeply about rooting new developments in the history and culture of its neighborhood. Huge thank you to their team for their trust and helping us faithfully craft this brand identity.
Approach
The visual language of The Ballard Independent honors the rich history and grungy aesthetics of old Ballard. Before the design process began, the team and I walked around and documented the many details that characterize the neighborhood. The brand naturally evolved from the inspiration we found.
